Claire Gotham Energy & Infrastructure Board Advisor
Track Record

Where the capital went — and what it delivered.

Over 25+ years, Claire’s work has followed three threads: shaping capital deployment across utilities, renewables, and infrastructure; leading grid modernization and system transformation at scale; and advising executive teams and boards through regulatory, operational, and investment complexity. These engagements show what that looks like in practice.

Deciding where the money goes — then making it land

Supply strategy, procurement, and valuation work where the numbers are large, the timelines are fixed, and the assumptions have to hold up under audit.

Pacific Northwest Electric Cooperative · Client confidential

Standing up independent power supply as data‑center demand surged

When a hyperscale cloud provider established multiple data centers in the cooperative’s territory, power demand rose dramatically — and the cooperative moved to transition its power supply and energy management from its wholesale supplier to self‑directed resources and third‑party suppliers.

Claire led strategic planning and portfolio management for the transition: building the overall project plan — energy requirements, energy management framework, and the procurement process for new supply contracts — and managing the transition of existing agreements so the cooperative could stand up independent supply by its target date. That meant coordinating stakeholders, managing risk, and running a competitive solicitation and contract negotiation.

Consolidating a utility’s IT estate to relieve capacity constraints

Role: Client Partner

The client needed to modernize its IT estate by consolidating data centers into new co‑location facilities — addressing capacity constraints and enabling future operations — while migrating infrastructure and applications out of internal data centers across four counties.

Claire’s team delivered the full solution: application and data assessment, migration planning, service integration, and governance, executed in phases using proprietary tools, automation, and vendor support, and aligned with the client’s sustainability goals.
